Design Sketch of Jast Music Blog

Before we get into actual music-related news, here's a little low down on why this blog looks the way it does.

For the layout and design, colour scheme and such for this blog, we had to consider the music industry and the music scene of the 21st century, in regards to our music tastes. Our focus on music news will vary as it does vary due to each of our own tastes in music, thus, a design that would be suitable as a general one was decided.

The blog's content would be centered on a white background, so as to not inundate the viewer with the dark contrast of the blog's actual background (which is a soft, dark grey background with minimal design, instead of jet black). Adding to the simplistic monochromatic theme of backgrounds, splashes of colour seemed like a good touch admist the shade of grey and white. Hence, colour comes from our JAST [Music] logo/header. As for overall colour scheme, besides the general use of black or dark grey font for blog posts in this body, the headings and link font colours match the colours seen in the JAST logo. Basically, 4 colours within the colour scheme (pink, orange, green, blue - generally on the darker/muted side of those colours, rather than vibrant) which aims for a simplistic and modern appeal, as opposed to being dull.

Here's the sample sketch of our design prior to future entries in the blog:

That's about all for now! Music-related news will be on it's way shortly!
